New RefWorks is now available for MGH users, but not everyone should upgrade just yet.
If you’re not interested in using Write-N-Cite with Microsoft Word as a companion to RefWorks, you can upgrade at any time. However, if you would like to use Write-N-Cite, please read on.
There are two factors to consider when making your decision:
- Are you currently writing a paper or otherwise using Legacy RefWorks for a project that is a work in progress?
If your answer is yes, it is recommended that you wait until the completion of your current paper/project before you upgrade.
- What version of Microsoft Word are you using?
If you're still using Microsoft Word 2007, DO NOT upgrade. Consider requesting that Partners IS upgrade your workstation to Office 2016, which includes Word 2016.
If you're not in the middle of a current paper/project, and you're using Microsoft Word 2016, it is recommended that you upgrade to New RefWorks.
